Paris Saint-Germain Edges Olympique de Marseille via Spot-Kicks to Lift French Super Cup in the Middle East.

Trophy celebration scene

PSG has now claimed the season-opening cup on fourteen different times.

The Parisian giants required a dramatic leveler followed by a perfect penalty shootout to overcome Marseille in the Gulf and capture a fourth straight Trophee des Champions title.

The European champions appeared to be sailing towards a straightforward triumph in the showdown between the Ligue 1 winners and the Coupe de France holders after Ousmane Dembele found the net in the opening stages.

Yet, the southern French side fired twice in the closing moments to seize a surprise lead. First, Mason Greenwood scored from the spot-kick, before the defender unfortunately directed the ball into his own net for an own-goal.

In a remarkable turn of events, the Portuguese striker snatched a crucial equaliser in the dying seconds to send the contest into a deciding shootout. PSG goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier then stood as the key figure, saving crucial kicks from O'Riley and Hamed Traore.

From the spot, Ramos, Vitinha, Nuno Mendes, and the young talent all scored successfully for PSG to seal a convincing penalty win.

The record winners PSG, who faced last season's Ligue 1 runners-up Marseille after achieving a league and cup double, have now lifted this competition for the twelfth time in the last 13 years.
