England Bring Back Saka But Bellingham, Phil Foden & Grealish Are Left Out

England have recalled the Arsenal winger for upcoming fixtures versus Wales and Latvia, but there is no place for Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden or Jack Grealish.

Arsenal forward Saka missed last month's World Cup qualifying successes over Andorra and Serbia due to a hamstring issue.

Saka recently returned for Arsenal and scored in their 2-0 win over Olympiacos on Wednesday.

Saka replaces Arsenal team-mate Noni Madueke, who is sidelined until November because of a knee injury.

England meet Wales in a friendly at the national stadium on Thursday prior to a World Cup qualifier in Latvia on 14 October.

If England win in Latvia, they will require a just two points from their final two qualifiers versus Albania and Serbia in the next month to reach next summer's tournament in Canada, Mexico and the United States.

Bayer Leverkusen defender Quansah comes in for Newcastle's Livramento, who is sidelined for two months after sustaining a knee issue versus Arsenal recently.

Elliot Anderson and Spence, who received their maiden national team selections last month, retain their places. Ruben Loftus-Cheek also remains in the squad, despite the return to fitness of Wharton.

The attacker has featured in just a single match for Tuchel since he became national team boss, due to injury concerns.

Bellingham was absent from the previous squad as he was rehabilitating after shoulder surgery and has only made one start for Real Madrid since returning to fitness.

The Manchester City player was left out from Tuchel's previous selection after a dip in performance and has been unable to force his way back, despite a impressive beginning to the campaign with Manchester City.

Grealish also misses out in spite of a resurgence on loan at Everton. He has not played for England since last year.

The manager’s new selection brings scrutiny on those the boss has left out instead of the included names.

Jude Bellingham's omission may cause surprise but the coach understandably feels there is no rush to recall the Madrid midfielder.

City’s Foden and loanee Grealish have both performed well in the early stages of the campaign.

The players Tuchel utilised in England's World Cup qualifier wins against Serbia and Andorra merit the reward of continuity.

There will be regret that Arsenal's Madueke is not involved due to a fitness issue.

The Forest player has looked right at home at England senior level.

Tuchel is a fan of Grealish, in particular, as well as Foden.

If there is one surprise, it comes in the absence of Crystal Palace midfielder Wharton.

Bellingham, naturally, will be required in the future.
